Mama Diam (directly translates to 妈妈店) is a speakeasy restaurant bar hidden behind the front of a nostalgic old-school Mama Shop, an important element of Singapore’s rich cultural heritage. All the snacks, toys and candies are actually bought over from an actual mama shop. We got a chance to interview the owner of Mama Diam, Sebastian Ang, on what makes his restaurant bar so unique from the rest.

Is Large Format still viable for Food Photography in 2019?

I have been a huge proponent of the largest sensor since I started shooting on a Nikon D70 in 2006. A larger sensor was always the solution. Lower Noise, larger photo sites, higher dynamic range, better bokeh etc. And soon enough I had found myself a Hasselblad 500cm.
